Eternal life now

As I read 1John 5:11-13 I became aware that the life of Christ is eternal and the following scriptures bear witness to that fact. “And this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. V12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. V13 these things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son God.”

Now, when I speak of this eternal life, I am not referring to our physical life nor broadcasting the idea that we will not die. If you ask me if I believe in the doctrine of eternal security, I will answer you that I believe in Christ whose life is eternal, and is in every born again child of God.

In connection to this eternal life, our brother John writes the following about Jesus in his epistle. “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life. The life was manifested and we have seen and bear witness and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us” 1 John 1:1, 2
Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Every born again believer who is joined to Christ in his spirit, 1Cor 6:17 has that same life in him, “but he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” 1Cor 6:17 and our Brother John urges them to KNOW it by saying: “these things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life...” 1John5:13

Now John does not say that the believer would have eternal life one day, but in fact that he already has it, right here and right now, because now he is also a son of God. “Beloved, now we are sons of God and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”1John 3:2

In conclusion, eternal life is in Christ, and we are saved by that life.... “For when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”Rom 5:10
In Christ our all.†
